Beauty exists in every moment.
The unfinished beauty of youth. The quiet pride of maturity.
The unfinished beauty of youth. The quiet pride of maturity. The beauty a woman keeps within, and the grace that time has raised — given one form.
Kimono silk that has already lived one life. Sea glass softened by the waves over many years. Denim that grows kinder the more it is carried.
Japanese artisans cut, sew, fire and set these three materials into one bag.

Choosing the kimono
Each kimono is chosen by eye, for the way its pattern will fall across the bag.
Cutting
Panels are cut by hand, one at a time.
Thread
Thread is matched to the colours of each kimono and denim.
Sewing
Kimono, denim and trim are sewn together into one form.
Firing the glass
The glass for each clasp is fired in the kiln.
Setting the stone
The clasp is set by hand — the last step before the bag is finished.

No two are alike.
“There is no need to be perfect. That life in its entirety is already profoundly beautiful.”
Yoko Kaniwa, designer
